We report a case of migration of a surgical localization wire from the breast to the abdomen. A 41-year-old female underwent presurgical needle localization of a deep-sited left-sided breast lesion. Migration of the localization wire in the chest wall occurred during the procedure documented by imaging. Continuous advancements in materials technology have provided the possibility that multiple new urethral bulking agents will be available soon. Migration and perigraft leakage are major problems after endovascular stent graft (EVG) by means of median sternotomy for distal aortic arch aneurysm. Anchoring sutures have been applied to prevent these problems. We evaluate the mid-term results and the efficacy of anchoring sutures. PURPOSE: To evaluate tilt and decentration after primary and secondary implantation of transsclerally sutured posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PC IOLs).
SETTING: Dokuz Eylül University Medical School, Department of Ophthalmology, Izmir, Turkey.
METHODS: Fifty-six consecutive eyes of 53 patients who had implantation of transsclerally sutured PC IOLs were prospectively included in the study. Intraocular lens tilt and decentration after primary (14 eyes) and secondary (42 eyes) implantation were compared quantitatively using Purkinje images.

BACKGROUND/PURPOSE: The most common complication of the minimally invasive technique for repair of pectus excavatum (MIRPE) is bar displacement, which has been reported to occur in 9.5% of all cases, particularly in teenaged patients. The use of a lateral stabilizing bar has improved stability but has not eliminated the occurrence of this problem. Efficiency and tolerance of the Vena Tech-LGM filter were assessed in 142 patients prospectively studied during a 2-6-year follow-up period. No patients were lost to follow-up, and 137 (91.3%) scheduled control examinations were performed. Fifty-three patients died of causes unrelated to thromboembolic disease. We have undertaken a prospective study of the management of fractures of the distal radius using three Kirschner wires as advocated by Kapandji. 30 were immobilised and the other 30 allowed early movement.
