Thirty-six patients with measurable or evaluable advanced soft tissue sarcoma were entered in a phase II trial with PALA. Among the 27 evaluable patients, 15 were men, the median age was 55 yr (16-69) and the median performance status (Karnofsky) was 80 (50-100). Most patients had leiomyosarcoma (8), liposarcoma (3), neurofibrosarcoma (3), synovial cell sarcoma (3), or undifferentiated sarcoma (3). Intracorporeal electromechanical morcellation has been available for nearly 2 decades, and has allowed hundreds of thousands of women to undergo hysterectomy and myomectomy in a minimally invasive approach. Despite gains in postoperative pain, complications, quality of life, hospital stay, and return to work, it has recently come under attack. The risk of inadvertent morcellation of a uterine malignancy, and subsequent dissemination of occult cancer, must be balanced by the risks of increased numbers of laparotomies. Power morcellation should be available to appropriate surgical candidates.

Diaphragm disease of small intestine usually presents with nonspecific clinical features. Radiological investigations often fail to differentiate it from small intestinal tumors and inflammatory bowel disease. It is therefore diagnosed on final histology after surgical resection. We hereby report an interesting case of a suspected small bowel tumor later diagnosed as diaphragm disease on histology.

Solitary fibrous tumours are infrequent neoplasms based in the pleura that are predominantly benign with malignant pathology and behaviour described in 10-36% of cases. Extrathoracic solitary fibrous tumours (ESFTs) have been considered separately to their intrathoracic counterparts and comprise a third of all solitary fibrous tumours. Tumors of the small intestine are rare as compared to other tumors of the gastrointestinal tract; clinical symptoms are unrevealing for long time, thwarting an early diagnosis.
