PURPOSE: To report four cases of branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) with the complication of serous retinal detachment (SRD).
METHODS: We retrospectively studied four eyes of four patients with macular edema and macular hard exudates associated with midperipheral BRVO. Visual acuity, ophthalmoscopy, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography findings were evaluated. Three of the four eyes underwent laser photocoagulation in the BRVO area 1 month after the initial visit.

We present a case of a bronchogenic pulmonary cyst in a 48-year-old patient. We performed [corrected] mucoclasis using argon laser photocoagulation following resection of mucosa, closure of some drainage bronchus, and covering of the inner surface by the intrapulmonary bronchogenic cyst with an [corrected] absorbable vicryl mesh. An insulin-dependent diabetic woman of 42 years received a combined pancreas and kidney transplant five years prior to referral to our clinic for ophthalmic consultation. PURPOSE: To report the structural and functional outcomes at a minimum of 7 years postmenstrual age after randomized treatment of threshold retinopathy of prematurity with laser ablation or cryotherapy.
METHODS: Nineteen patients were entered into a prospective, randomized protocol, in which one eye received cryotherapy, while the other eye received diode laser photocoagulation. METHODS: Forty-one patients with 47 benign tumors of the eyelid were included in this study. In all patients, the eyelid tumor was eliminated by argon laser. PURPOSE: To analyze the results of intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction by diode laser contact cyclophotocoagulation ("cyclodiode") in cases of advanced glaucoma refractory to alternative treatments.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the relative effectiveness of neodymium:YAG (Nd:YAG) cyclophotocoagulation (CPC) and tube-shunt surgery on intraocular pressure (IOP) control in eyes with neovascular glaucoma (NVG).
DESIGN: Retrospective, case-by-case matched, comparative group study.
PARTICIPANTS: Twenty-four patients with NVG treated with noncontact Nd:YAG-CPC were matched with 24 patients who underwent tube-shunt surgery. Matching criteria included the underlying disorder causing angle neovascularization, the lens status, and patient's age.
