The objective of our study was to determine the utility of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance (DWMR) to differentiate the atypical uterine leiomyomas and sarcomas, establishing a cut-off value of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) to rule out the malignancy. BACKGROUND: Wernicke's encephalopathy (WE) is a neurological emergency which presents with symptoms of confusion, ophthalmoplegia, and ataxia. Cancer patients are at high risk of this acute encephalopathy due to chronic malnutrition, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, and consumption of thiamine by rapidly growing tumors. The epidemiology of gastric cancer is remarkable for both its dramatic decline in incidence over the past century and its continuing presence as the second leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide despite this decline.
