Prepregnancy Dopamine Agonist Treatment Duration as a Predictor of Postpartum Prolactinoma Remission.

OBJECTIVES: Prolactinoma is a major cause of infertility in women of reproductive age. Although pregnancy has been proposed to induce prolactinoma remission, evidence remains inconsistent because of the lack of well-matched control groups. This study evaluated the impact of pregnancy on prolactinoma outcomes and identified predictors of sustained postpartum remission. METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 225 women with prolactinoma treated between 2003 and 2024. Seventy-five patients who became pregnant during dopamine agonist (DA) therapy were matched 1:2 with 150 nonpregnant controls using

Insulin Pump Guide for Health Care Professionals: Settings, Interpretation, and Adjustment.

The number of people with diabetes using insulin pumps has increased through the years. Automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, which integrate pump and continuous glucose monitoring with an algorithm to deliver insulin, have enhanced the adoption of insulin pumps. We present a step-by-step resource for health care professionals, from novices to more advanced practitioners, for reviewing the features and settings of AIDs and interpreting the download reports, including considerations such as the kind of insulin used in the pump, and the nonjudgmental approach in evaluating patient behaviors.

Tirzepatide Versus Conventional Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists for Treatment Simplification in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Real-World Study.

OBJECTIVE: Polypharmacy and complex insulin regimens increase the treatment burden of type 2 diabetes mellitus, highlighting the need for treatment simplification. Tirzepatide (TZP) is a novel antidiabetic agent that has demonstrated potent glucose-lowering and weight-reducing effects, possibly reducing the use of concomitant antidiabetic medications and insulin dose requirements. However, data regarding its effects on treatment simplification in real-world settings are limited. METHODS: This retrospective real-world study compared TZP with conventional glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonis

Agreement Between HbA1C and Continuous Glucose Monitoring-Derived Glycemic Metrics in Adults With Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes.

OBJECTIVE: Cystic fibrosis related diabetes (CFRD) is a prevalent complication of cystic fibrosis that requires accurate assessment of glycemic control to guide management. Whether HbA1C reliably reflects mean glycemia in adults with CFRD, particularly in the context of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) adoption and modern cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator modulator therapy, remains uncertain. METHODS: This retrospective cross-sectional study, conducted at a single CF center, evaluated adults with confirmed CFRD who had a laboratory HbA1C paired with at least 30 days of CG

Obesity and Metabolic Complications in Cystic Fibrosis.

OBJECTIVE: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations in the CF transmembrane conductance regulator gene, resulting in impaired chloride and bicarbonate transport across epithelial cells. This defect results in multisystem involvement, characterized primarily by chronic pulmonary infections, obstructive lung disease, and respiratory failure, alongside extrapulmonary manifestations including pancreatic insufficiency, CF-related diabetes, and liver disease. Historically, malnutrition represented a major clinical challenge due to chronic catabolism, increased ener
