STUDY OBJECTIVE: To report a case of a transrectal mesh erosion as complication of laparoscopic promontofixation with mesh repair, necessitating bowel resection and subsequent surgical interventions.

Prosthetic joint infection is one of the most dreaded complications following elective lower extremity primary total joint arthroplasty, resulting in substantial pain, disability, and health care costs. Both static and articulating antibiotic-impregnated spacers have been used in the management of 2-stage revision for infected total knee arthroplasty, which remains the gold standard for treatment of these infections. Articulating spacers may provide theoretical benefits with regard to improved range of motion after reimplantation secondary to less scar formations and soft tissue contractures.

BACKGROUND: According to the published reports, revision surgery is sometimes recommended even in patients with asymptomatic anterior lumbar intervertebral graft migrations. For treatment of deep vein thrombosis and prevention of pulmonary thromboembolism, a retrievable inferior vena cava filter is commonly utilized as an effective bridge to anticoagulation. However, we have experienced difficulties in retrieving inferior vena cava filters. Endovascular retrieval assisted by disposable biopsy forceps is an appropriate approach because it provides a less-invasive low-cost way to remove a migrated filter. We suggest this troubleshooting technique to deal with filter hook migration into the caval wall.

Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with or without stent has become the treatment of choice for stenotic lesion in subclavian arteries. However, there is a growing concern following many reports of stent fractures, a serious complication of endovascular therapy. We report for the first time a case of delayed left subclavian stent fracture with transection of the protruding ostial part and migration into the aortic carrefour that was retrieved by a snare device.

The aim of this study is to describe the high success rate and safety of cardiac pacing lead extraction techniques used for PACs complicated by infection or migration and not removed by manual traction.

An 80-year-old woman with pseudoexfoliation syndrome developed subluxation of a posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL)-capsular bag complex due to zonular rupture. She underwent a limited 25-gauge pars plana vitrectomy and iris transfixation of the subluxated IOL-capsule complex.
