Xanthogranulomatous pancreatitis (XGP) is extremely rare, with only 31 cases reported in the English literature to date. We reviewed previously reported 17 articles about XGP and report an additional case of XGP. Between 1960 and 1994 cystic fibrosis was found in nine out of 1474 infants investigated for neonatal cholestasis. Four had delay in passing meconium. OBJECTIVES: Arterial infusion chemotherapy is considered to be an extremely effective treatment for liver metastasis from colorectal cancer in terms of its tumor reduction and preventing recurrence in residual liver after resection. However, there still remain some unclear points as to the influence on hepatic artery and bile duct when this treatment is used over the long term. AIM: Intrabiliary rupture (IBR) is a common and serious complication of hepatic hydatid cyst. The incidence varies from 1% to 25%. The treatment of IBR is still controversial. We aimed to design an algorithm for the treatment of hepatic hydatidosis with IBR by reviewing our cases.
METHODS: Eight cases of IBR were analyzed retrospectively. Patients were evaluated according to age, sex, clinical findings, cyst number and stage, abdominal ultrasonography and CT-scan, surgical methods, complications, results and coincidental diseases.
