BACKGROUND: Topical bexarotene 1% gel is currently FDA-approved for early stage (IA and IB) persistent or refractory cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). No uniformly effective therapy exists for follicular mucinosis, although several treatments are routinely used.
