Issues of drowning or near drowning in aquatic sporting have received considerable attention in the literature; however, there is not a lot of attention to nonsubmersion injuries such as water tubing. Water tubing is similar to water skiing but with much less control by the rider, leaving the rider at the mercy of the driver or any obstacle in their path. This report describes unusual events surrounding the injury of a 5-year-old boy enjoying water fun with his father on his boat. The importance of adequate safety precautions during aquatic recreational activities will also be highlighted.

Morphohistochemical study of host-parasite relationships after the infection of carp with Bothriocephalus opsariichthydis was conducted. It has been found out that the whole parasite's strobile comes into close contact with tissues of the mucous membrane of the carp's gut. The destruction of the gut's wall results from its digestion or lysis that is confirmed by high activity of acid phosphatase. Together with epithelium of the mucous membrane of the gut exodermis of the helminth takes an active part in the digestion that is proved by similar histochemical processes.

Till date, many workers have demonstrated the nutritive value of dietary lipids and the qualitative and quantitative requirements for essential fatty acid (EFA) in many cultivable fish. From the data accrued, a categorization can be made for the EFA requirement as follows: Type I (require n-6 fatty acids), Type II (require both n-6 and n-3 fatty acids) and Type III (require n-3 fatty acids). Responses of single olfactory tract fibers cut off from prosencephalon to adequate stimulation of the carp olfactory epithelium revealed that the threshold sensitivity to aminoacids fell in the range between 10(-12) and 10(-10) M, that the magnitude and the form of the response depended on the concentration and type of stimulus as well as on the level of background activity.
