Ectropion is unusual in young individuals. Recently, we treated a 19-year-old male college student for epiphora due to bilateral ectropion associated with McArdle's syndrome, a myophosphorylase deficiency. To our knowledge, there have been no previous reports of ectropion and epiphora as a result of this rare glycogen-storage disease.

Acquired ectropion uveae (AEU) is a common sequela to various inflammatory and ischemic conditions, though it is not well recognized. There is a paucity of literature describing AEU. So here, we present five cases where we documented ectropion uveae following chronic inflammation. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical features of congenital ectropion uvea (CEU) and the relationship between CEU and secondary glaucoma.
METHODS: This is a retrospective case series. Clinical features and treatments of 11 patients with CEU were summarized. Combined with the literatures review of CEU, the pathogenesis and therapeutic results of secondary glaucoma were analyzed.

PURPOSE: To evaluate eyelid margin alterations in ectropion carriers.
METHODS: An observational study was done involving 53 eyelid ectropion patients and 25 individuals with dermochalasis (control group). Eyelash position and margin inflammation were observed using digital images. The data were submitted to statistical analysis.
RESULTS: Patients with ectropion showed a decreased number of eyelashes, loose convexity, trichiasis and distichiasis as compared with the control group.

Two cases with congenital total ectropion of the upper eyelids are reported (1 bilateral and 1 unilateral). There were no associated ocular or general abnormalities nor any apparent causes. One child was born normally, the other by cesarean section. The disease is not caused by difficult labor through natural birth passages. The condition is usually cured by conservative therapy. If surgery is carried out, it should be performed as early as possible in order to rule out secondary infections, amblyopia, epidermization of the conjunctiva, etc.

A V-Y advancement flap modified for anorectal use in reconstructive surgery for anal ectropion is described. The underlying external sphincter serves a dual function as the pivotal point for flap advancement and as the vascular pedicle to the dermal-subdermal plexus supplying the flap. This ensures viability and restores function to the newly created anus.

Topical 5-fluorouracil is a common treatment for actinic keratoses. Its side effects may include intense erythema, erosions, contact dermatitis, systemic intolerance in susceptible individuals, and ulcerations. A 32-year-old female with Kindler syndrome presented with a 5-year history of lower eyelid malposition, corneal exposure, and recurrent erosions.
