Some immunity indices were studied in patients with acute dysentery. The number of total and active T-lymphocytes, T mu- and T gamma-cells, T-rabbit, T-staphylococcal, B-total and B-lymphocytes forming rosettes with mouse erythrocytes were determined for assessment of the immune status. BACKGROUND: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder of variable origin that results in bleeding and decreased platelet count. Autoimmune abnormalities have been described in patients with malignancies including non-Hodgkin's lymphoma but are rarely described in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
OBJECTIVES: To describe an unusual presentation of Hodgkin's lymphoma in an unusual age and alarm pediatricians of the challenging diagnosis.

We report the case of a 55-year-old male with AIDS who developed severe thrombocytopenia following initiation of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Despite drug discontinuation and supportive measures, thrombocytopenia persisted, leading to the patient's death. Hepatitis A is common in children and usually is a self-limiting disease. Although extrahepatic and hematological immune manifestations following acute hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection have rarely been reported, they are frequently observed in other viral hepatitis. In this paper, we report the case of a 3-year-old girl who developed immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and hemolytic anemia after HAV infection. Evans syndrome is an underdiagnosed condition consisting of simultaneous or sequential combination of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and immune-mediated thrombocytopenia. We report a case of severe Evans syndrome presenting as altered mental status, a rare presenting sign of the disease. This case highlights the difficulty in diagnosing Evans syndrome and provides a review of the literature and management strategies for treating the disorder.

The quantitative studies of B lymphocytes in peripheral blood have been performed in various forms of primary and secondary immunodeficiency disease in man.
