BACKGROUND: Drop jump (DJ) performance is underpinned by a complex interplay of biomechanical factors occurring during the eccentric and concentric phases. This study aimed to identify the biomechanical determinants of DJ performance using partial least squares (PLS) regression analysis.

This paper is part of the author's free-teaching theses presented in 1974, in which he has studied 436 persons not carriers of the B.S.A. and other diseases, resident in Campos, Conceição de Macabu and Quissamã (urban and rural zones). Tests were applied in these patients by using standardized antigen of polysaccharide of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis of histoplasmine. The author concluded that there has been existence of the B.S.A.-infection which means what is called "INFEKT". He emphasizes that the epidemiologic researches have important role in the estimation of the incidence of the B.S.A.

1600 subjects connected with mining were divided into 6 groups and examined because of intestinal parasites. Thirty-nine patients with nickel allergy as diagnosed by results of clinical history and intradermal testing with nickel sulfate were treated by sublingual hyposensitization. Intradermal testing was accurate and titration showed the degree of sensitivity. The immunologic principle of oral tolerance was used in treatment. Eighty-five percent of the thirty-nine patients showed subjective improvement in their dermatitis and all showed objective evidence of decreased intradermal sensitivity. The rôle of contact allergens and aeroallergens in facial dermatitis (FD) was studied. 114 cases of FD were divided into 3 groups. 56 healthy rabbits were inoculated with the active Cysticercus each into lateral ventricle of the brain, the white substance of the brain and into Spatium subarachnoideale.
