Human anisakiasis is a disease caused by an infestation of the third stage larvae of family anisakidae. The ingested larvae invade the gastrointestinal wall, causing clinical symptoms that include abdomen pain, nausea, and vomiting. Although enteric anisakiasis is extremely rare, it can induce intestinal obstruction. We report a case in which emergency surgery was needed due to intestinal obstruction that coincided with symptoms related to anisakiasis, along with a brief literature review.

Reconstruction of the oro and hypopharynx has specific difficulties due to their wide diameters. Seven patients underwent reconstruction with a free U-shaped jejunal transplant, after circular pharyngolaryngectomy for hypopharyngeal cancer invading the oropharynx. A reliable method of monitoring free vascularised jejunum to the head and neck region has been used in six patients. Preliminarily, the jejunum island flap is subdivided into major and minor segments. Transferred to the neck, the major part is used to reconstruct the oesophageal or pharyngeal defect, while the minor part supplied by the same segmental mesenteric artery is exteriorised through the neck incision. A case of extragenital choriocarcinoma which produces human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the small intestine of a 48-yr-old Japanese women is reported. Only seven such cases have been reported. The patient complained of postprandial upper abdominal pain and vomiting of 5 months' duration. Nine years before, right upper lobectomy was performed because of lung undifferentiated carcinoma. There are no well-substantiated reports, to our knowledge of a Meckel's diverticulum arising outside the limits of the terminal ileum. We saw a diverticulum located in the proximal jejunum that fulfilled the anatomic and histologic criteria for the diagnosis of a Meckel's diverticulum. This was an incidental finding during the treatment of a sliding esophageal hiatus hernia and caused no apparent difficulty to the patient.
