Cutaneous larva migrans is the most frequent parasitic tropical dermatosis imported by travelers returning from tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Follicular larva migrans (FLM) is a rare and atypical clinical presentation of hookworm-related cutaneous larva migrans (HrCLM). FLM is characterized clinically by follicular, round, small, erythematous papules that are sometimes topped by vesicles or pustules. The clinical records of patients with visceral larva migrans confirmed through laparoscopy and other tests are reviewed. This review was prompted by the admittance of two patients with this affection in the last years. Medical literature was reviewed, and conclusions are made.

Visceral larva migrans (VLM) is a systemic manifestation of migration of second stage larvae of nematodes through the tissue of human viscera.
