PURPOSE: During the first part of the 20th century, (226)Ra was the most used radionuclide for brachytherapy. Retrospective accurate dosimetry, coupled with patient follow up, is important for advancing knowledge on long-term radiation effects. Since August 1987 we documented the course of three patients with Cogan-I-Syndrome (CS) (interstitial keratitis and audio vestibular disorder). Epidemiologic studies, retrospective and prospective, were done on 1500 abortions collected from 1966-1972. No secular or seasonal variations were observed. From the analysis of the relative frequencies of the different types of chromsome anomalies it is estimated that 1 out of every 2 conceptions has a chromosome anomaly. A survey of reproductive tracts from nonpregnant cows at an abattoir was conducted. Reproductive tracts from 98 cows were studied microscopically and evaluated with a grading system to determine the severity of pathologic changes. A retrospective analysis of 143 studies of abdominal scintigraphy with technetium-99m pertechnetate for the diagnosis of ectopic gastric mucosa (usually located in Meckel diverticulum) was undertaken.
