Bile reflux has been implicated in the pathogenesis of gastritis, gastric ulcer, and esophagitis. Radionuclide techniques provide the only non-invasive method to detect duodenogastric reflux. To analyze the problems that occur with attempts at quantitation, 55 patients were prospectively evaluated (45 patients with reflux esophagitis or Barrett's esophagus and ten patients with clinical symptoms of bile reflux, four of whom had Bilroth II surgery) with Tc-99m DISIDA, using a fasting technique with gallbladder stimulation by sincalide. The present study was done both in vivo by cannulating pancreatic duct of morphine-dependent rats and in vitro using perfused pancreatic slices from morphine-dependent rats. The results were as follows: (1) In morphine-dependent rat the pancreatic amylase secretion induced by CCK-8 was significantly declined; (2) Amylase content of pancreatic tissue in morphine-dependent rats was lower than that of normal rats. It is suggested that the synthesis of amylase in morphine-dependent rat pancreas may be inhibited.

METHODS: The SIS scaffolds prepared by freeze-drying method were immersed in simulated body fluid (SBF), mineralized liquid containing polyacrylic acid (PAA) and mine-ralized liquid containing PAA and polyaspartic acid (PASP). After two weeks in the mineralized solution, the liquid was changed every other day. SBF@SIS, PAA@SIS, PAA/PASP@SIS scaffolds were obtained.

One of the late effects of truncal vagotomy is gallbladder dilatation. However, the early physiologic mechanisms responsible for this phenomenon have not been clearly elucidated.
