Development of neo-bladder vaginal fistula is not an unknown complication after cystectomy and orthotopic urinary diversion in females. Compared to native bladder, the wall of the neo-bladder is much thinner that may render it vulnerable to fistulization. Injury to the vagina during cystectomy is the most important predisposing factor. Herein, we present a case of neo-bladder vaginal fistula and discuss the potential surgical and clinical factors contributing to its occurrence as well as the treatment options available.

Urinary bladder fistula formation is a complication of significant morbidity and mortality following pelvic surgery or radiotherapy. Surgical treatment is the definitive management, but it may be contraindicated in patients with significant comorbidities. Various conditions such as inflammation, malignancy, surgical manipulations, and radiation therapy can lead to the development of urinary bladder fistulae. Although many of these fistulae are suspected clinically, imaging plays a major role in confirmation and planning of subsequent treatment. Computed tomography (CT) cystoscopy provides useful details regarding the fistulous track and the anatomy of the region. This article aims to provide a succinct review of bladder fistulae and the role of CT cystography in their management.

A 20-year-old woman was referred to our hospital for further evaluation on persistent pyuria. Physical examination showed a tender solid suprapubic mass. Computed tomography showed a right ovarian multilocular cystic tumor just above the urinary bladder. Cystoscopy showed pus leakage from an orifice in a hemisphere protrusion of the bladder wall. A small catheter could be inserted into the orifice. It revealed a fistula 4 cm in length between the right ovarian tumor and the vesical cavity. A sigmoid tuberculosis is very rare. We report a case of sigmoid pseudotumoral tuberculosis with a fistulization into the urinary bladder in a 10-year-old girl. The diagnosis of tuberculosis was made by histopathological examination of the surgical specimen after segmental colectomy. Surgery completed by antitubercular chemotherapy gave a good result.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate our experience with urinary-cutaneous fistulae (UCFs) in patients following conservative management of extraperitoneal bladder ruptures (EBRs) caused by blunt trauma.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients with blunt-trauma related EBR who underwent primary management with urethral catheter drainage alone from 2000 to 2015 were identified in our institutional trauma registry. The demographics, the hospital courses, and the outcomes of patients who developed UCF were analyzed.
