We propose a method in which vulvar reconstruction could be accomplished at the time of vluvectomy. A full-thickness pedicle flap is rotated from the vaginal vault to the area of excision, providing excellent coverage without subsequent contracture, and obviating the need for clitorectomy. This technique may also aid in palliating the psychological trauma induced by genital disfigurement.

UNLABELLED: A rare case, when radical vulvectomy had to be done to treat a benign skin disorder is presented.
PATIENT AND METHOD: A 56-year-old white woman suffered from severe vulvar acne inversa. The systemic treatments, the incisions and drainages were not successful. The only solution was the radical excision of the seriously damaged vulva, with a satisfactory cosmetic and functional result. The pathology, the diagnosis and the treatment of the disease are also discussed.
CONCLUSION: The authors put emphasis on the importance of the interdisciplinary collaboration.

Postradical vulvectomy urinary incontinence is a common surgery-related complication, especially after subtotal urethrectomy. The objective of this study was to assess the reconstructive options after radical, extensive vulvectomy; relate them to tumor characteristics; and select a choice of flaps able to correct every remaining defect. Of 108 women treated for vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia between 1977 and 1984 at the Irvine Medical Center, University of California, and the Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach, Women's Hospital, 48 with multifocal and/or widespread lesions underwent skinning vulvectomy and split thickness skin graft reconstruction. Arterial blowout syndrome has mostly been described in carotid arteries and has been attributed to factors associated with head and neck neoplasia, radical resection, and a history of irradiation. Only sporadic cases have been described in other arteries. Herein we present a case of the femoral artery blowout syndrome, six months after radical surgery of the vulva and radiation therapy.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the method of vulvar reconstruction after extended vulvectomy.
METHODS: Retrospectively, fourteen cases of vulva carcinoma were treated by radical wide local excision, and the defects were repaired with anterolateral thigh flap and inferior pedicle rectus abdominal myocutaneous flap. After the flap was harvested, it was put on the defect through the tunnel between the donor and the recipient site and the vulvae was reconstructed.

Forty-two patients with invasive carcinoma of the vulva, subjected to radical vulvectomy and inguinal lymphadenectomy, were evaluated retrospectively. The mean age of patients was 61.6 years. Fifteen patients (35.7%) had complicating medical diseases, the histopathological diagnoses were squamous carcinoma (n = 39), undifferentiated carcinoma (n = 1), and malignant melanoma (n = 2). The postoperative morbidity and mortality rates were found to be 73.8% and 11.6%, respectively.

There has been a case presented of multifoci preinvasive cancer in a twenty three years old female. In the case an operation has been performed involving a superficial excision of the changing vulvar skin. On the basis of meta-analysis we compared the efficiency of the performed surgical method and other destructive techniques used in the intraepithelial vulvar neoplasm treatment.

The focus of this study was to document postoperative complications after vulvectomy and inguinofemoral lymphadenectomy using separate incisions. Data from 172 consecutive patients with newly diagnosed carcinoma of the vulva were studied.
