The time-related exposure study showed that 4 ml (15 mg) pure chlorine gas caused about 90% destruction of 100 micrograms AFB1 within 10 min, at standard temperature and pressure. UV/NaOCl and UV/H2O2/NaOCl treatments of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) were compared across several reagent ratios using pseudo-first-order kinetics, LC-DAD/LC-MS screening of transformation products (TPs), multi-trophic bioassays, and quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR)-based toxicity and fate screening. This study discussed the effect of ferric salt addition on UV/electro-chlorine advanced oxidation process using a train of electrolytic and UV flow cells with an ozone-free low-pressure mercury vapour lamp (total irradiance:0.60 W at 254 nm).
