Lost circulation, a prevalent challenge in drilling engineering, poses significant risks including drilling fluid loss, wellbore instability, and environmental contamination. Conventional plugging materials often exhibit an inadequate performance under high-temperature, high-pressure (HTHP), and complex formation conditions. To address that, this study developed a high-performance gel-resin composite plugging material resistant to HTHP environments. By optimizing the formulation of bisphenol-A epoxy resin (20%), hexamethylenetetramine (3%), and hydroxyethyl cellulose (1%), and incorporating fi

Dental restorative resin composites are widely used to repair tooth decay owing to attractive esthetics, adequate mechanical properties and minimally invasive tooth structure preparations. Nevertheless, dental restorative resin composites still face challenges because of their relatively high failure rate and short lifespan caused by secondary caries and bulk fracture. Thus, attempts have been carried out to explore a new generation of dental restorative resin composites with antibacterial, remineralizing, and self-healing capabilities to inhibit bacteria and lengthen the lifetime of the resto

Dental curing light with blue emission acts as the excitation source for the photopolymerization of the dental composite resin to achieve dental repairing. However, the current repair methods still suffer from a low monomer conversion degree and incomplete resin curing. In this study, novel dental resin composites (DRCs) were prepared by combining Sr2MgSi2O7:Eu2+,Dy3+ (SMSED), a photoluminescent material with a blue long afterglow, and dental resin composites. The curing depth, double bond conversion, elastic modulus, compressive strength, water absorption and solubility, and cytotoxicity were

Severe dental trauma can often result in tooth loss at an early age. Orthodontic space closure and reshaping of the teeth are a conservative treatment approach. The purpose of this paper is to present a fast and predictable way to reshape teeth using the composite resin injection technique. A 10-year-old female presented for orthodontic treatment with a Class II malocclusion, lateral open bite and loss of the permanent maxillary left central incisor due to trauma. The treatment plan involved mesialization of the maxillary left teeth and reshaping of the maxillary left canine and lateral inciso

OBJECTIVE: Fracture is one of the main causes for failure of resin-based composite restorations. To overcome this drawback, self-healing resin-based composites have been designed by incorporation of microcapsules. However, the relationship between their self-healing capacity and microcapsule and resin parameters is still poorly understood. Therefore, the objective of this study was to systematically investigate the effect of initiator concentration (in the resin) and microcapsule size and concentration on the self-healing performance of commercially available flowable resin-based composites.
