Although coronary arterial fistula is rare, it is one of the most common among the coronary artery anomalies. Coronary arterial fistula most commonly affects the right side of the heart. It may occur isolated or along with congenital heart diseases. Angiography remains the best investigation for diagnosing the disease. Unless very large and hemodynamically significant, it is usually asymptomatic in younger patients. With increasing age, symptoms begin to appear, and the incidence of complication rises. Treatment by transcatheter or surgical closure gives the best results, provided this is perf…

Agenesis of gall bladder is a clinical rarity, as most of the diagnoses are made at autopsy. Preoperative diagnosis of this anomaly is fraught with follies. External biliary fistulae are usually result of complications of trauma or biliary surgery. Internal fistulae on the other hand may result from erosion of wall by a stone, cancerous growth or peptic ulcer. Sites of opening of internal fistulae are stomach, duodenum, jejunum, ileum or colon. These should be suspected if gas shadows are seen in biliary tree.

Thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) with aorto-oesophageal fistula formation is an uncommon but fatal cause of haematemesis. A case is presented of a previously healthy 63-year-old man who presented to the emergency department with syncope and haematemesis. He had no history of heavy alcohol intake and was previously well. Bedside portable chest x ray revealed a widened mediastinum and, while awaiting a CT angiogram, he had a further large haematemesis which led to him undergoing resuscitation and rapid sequence intubation. CT angiography of his thoracic aorta revealed a large thoracic aortic ane…

Spontaneous cholecystocutaneous fistula is a rare complication of chronic calculous cholecystitis because currently gallstones are diagnosed and treated at an early stage. This occurrence is possible even if it seems actually to be rare. We report the case of a 90-year-old woman admitted to our hospital with diarrhea of 4 days duration and low-grade fever (37.5°C). On physical examination, she had a 10 × 10 cm erythematous swelling and discomfort of the upper right abdominal quadrant; the skin and mucosae were dry. Transabdominal ultrasonography showed a gallbladder with abnormalities of the w…

The urachus is an embryonic remnant that connects the primitive bladder to the allantois. Multiple urachal anomalies have been described, including the urachal sinus, urachal cyst, patent urachus, and urachal diverticulum. We describe an unusual case in which a patient with urinary tract infection and dysuria was ultimately found to have urinary gallstones from a urachal connection with the gallbladder.

INTRODUCTION: Spontaneous cholecystocutaneous fistula is now a rare entity due to the advent of antibiotics, ultrasonography, and safe and early surgical treatment of biliary tract diseases. Such a case is reporting here, revealed by the systematic histological examination of the skin biopsy.
OBSERVATION: A 65 year-old male presented with an inflammatory and ulcerated lesion located on his right flank, with a long-standing but asymptomatic course. Biological tests and biliary tract ultrasonography were not very contributive. Histopathological findings consisted in a granulomatous dermal react…

Pyriform sinus fistulae/sinuses are rare causes of recurrent cervical abscess, especially on the left side. They can also present as acute thyroiditis. Treatment in the form of simple incision and drainage is invariably unsuccessful, and the entity may be confused with the residual tract of a second branchial arch anomaly. We report a case of pyriform sinus fistula, and believe that this is only the second case report in India. We feel that greater awareness can lead to proper and appropriate diagnosis of this anomaly.
