Intraperitoneal injection of adsorbed diphtheria-purified pertussis-tetanus combined vaccine (DPPT) often causes an ascites-accumulating (A-A) reaction in guinea pigs. Those vaccines which caused A-A reaction increase the vascular permeability (VP) of the skin tissue at the intracutaneous injection sites. A total of 23 lots of DPPT were assayed for A-A and VP-increasing activities. A positive correlation between the volume of ascites accumulated and the intensity of VP was significant. We present spatial-CITE-seq for high-plex protein and whole transcriptome co-mapping, which was firstly demonstrated for profiling 198 proteins and transcriptome in multiple mouse tissue types. It was then applied to human tissues to measure 283 proteins and transcriptome that revealed spatially distinct germinal center reaction in tonsil and early immune activation in skin at the COVID-19 mRNA vaccine injection site. Spatial-CITE-seq may find a range of applications in biomedical research.

STUDY DESIGN: Retrospective review of patient immunotherapy records from January 2000-June 2006.
SETTING: Tertiary care outpatient otolaryngology clinic.
RESULTS: Two hundred seventy-two patients were given 26,795 injections (average of 98.5 injections per patient). Lecithin-coated microdroplets of methoxyflurane (MOF) are shown to produce local anesthesia of three- to six-day duration in the skin with a single intradermal injection in rats. PURPOSE: To determine patient-preferred injection sites and frequency for facial volume augmentation with nonanimal stabilized hyaluronic acid (Restylane).
METHODS: : The authors retrospectively reviewed the records of 145 consecutive patients who received 0.4 ml or 1.0 ml subcutaneous facial injections of Restylane. Location, amount, supplemental anesthetic, injection frequency, follow-up time, and use of botulinum toxin type A or other facial aesthetic interventions were reviewed. If recorded, patient satisfaction, revision rate, and any adverse reactions were also noted and analyzed.
