The percutaneous release of accessory collateral ligaments was introduced in 1986 as a safe and quick procedure to be attempted before open, more extensive joint release in the treatment of proximal interphalangeal joint flexion contracture. Our study analyzed the long-term results and patient satisfaction following a percutaneous release in 30 joints after a mean follow-up period of 34 months. Fourteen patients with posttraumatic distal radioulnar joint instability were treated with a reconstruction of the distal radioulnar ligaments. The technique is anatomically accurate, is reproducible, and requires less dissection than previously described techniques. Candidates for the procedure had joint instability and an irreparable triangular fibrocartilage complex. Ten patients had bidirectional instability. Fifteen patients with recurrent inversion ankle sprains and documented lateral ankle instability were treated with an anatomically oriented ligament reconstruction using a split peroneus brevis tendon graft. 282 patients have undergone colpopexy to cooper ligament: 184 patients with genital prolapse treatment by abdominal approach, 18 patients with total hysterectomy for bening disease, 80 patients without any surgical procedure. Clinical survey was completed, for some patients, especially for the fifteen second-hand patients, by uretrocolpocystogram and/or urodynamic explorations. Functional results are equal to other works and seem to little decrease at a five year's notice. 8.5% of patients have had urinary urgencies. Failures seem more related with wrong indication than wrong surgical technic.

BACKGROUND: Because of the lack of symphyseal ligaments, pubic symphysis re-diastasis is the rule after iliac osteotomies for bladder exstrophy reconstruction. Progressive symphyseal diastasis may cause pelvic organ prolapse in females and penile retraction in males. This study assesses the results of tendon allograft symphyseal reconstruction for maintaining pubic approximation with iliac osteotomies in exstrophy repair.
