Some metal nitrides (TiN, ZrN, InN, GaN, Ca3 N2 , Mg3 N2 , and Ge3 N4 ) have been studied by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and (14) N magic angle-spinning (MAS) solid-state NMR spectroscopy. For Ca3 N2 , Mg3 N2 , and Ge3 N4 , no (14) N NMR signal was observed. We report a patient with an overlap of relapsing polychondritis and Behcet disease whose cartilaginous inflammation and genital lesions were refractory to corticosteroids and immunosuppressants, but fully remitted with the tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitor, infliximab. We believe this case represents the first report of a response to a tumor necrosis factor inhibitor in a patient with mouth and genital ulcerations with inflamed cartilage syndrome.

The synthetic application of prenucleation-stage samples of colloidal semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) is in its infancy. It is shown that when two prenucleation-stage samples of binary CdSe and CdS are mixed, ternary CdSeS magic-size clusters (MSCs) grow at room temperature in dispersion. As the amount of the CdS sample increases, the optical absorption of the CdSeS MSCs blueshifts from ≈380 to ≈360 nm. A recognized artifact of MRI, the magic angle effect (MAE), can lead to spurious results and inappropriate management. OBJECTIVE: To examine visual search patterns and strategies used by children with and without Asperger syndrome/high functioning autism (AS/HFA) while watching a magic trick. Limited responsivity to gaze cues is hypothesised to contribute to social deficits in children with AS/HFA.

BACKGROUND: We aimed to establish a cohort of persons with Crohn's disease (CD) enrolled from 14 Canadian centers to describe the contemporary presentation of CD in Canada.
