To make sense of the visual world, we need to move our eyes to focus regions of interest on the high-resolution fovea. Eye movements, therefore, give us a way to infer mechanisms of visual processing and attention allocation. Five patients evaluated via multi-view videofluoroscopy were found to have incongruous movements between the velum and lateral aspects of the pharyngeal walls. INTRODUCTION: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disease with a progressive course that affects the corticospinal and spinal cord motor neurons, the main manifestations of which are muscular weakness, amyotrophy and hyperreflexia. It has an incidence of 0.4-2.4 cases/100,000 inhabitants/year, and a prevalence of 4-6 cases/100,000 inhabitants. It is more frequent in adult males over 50 years of age. A number of different neurological diseases have been portrayed in literature, cinema and television, including ALS, which has been presented correctly and realistically.

Ventricular septal defect is the most common congenital heart malformation. Surgical closure, when indicated, has been practiced for over 50 years with good results; however, surgical closure is still associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Over the past decade, several occluding devices have been developed that made catheter device closure an attractive alternative to surgery with widely satisfactory results. In this article, a comprehensive review of percutaneous and perventricular (hybrid) device closure of each type of ventricular septal defect is presented.
