Acute esophageal necrosis (AEN), commonly referred to as "black esophagus", is a rare clinical entity arising from a combination of ischemic insult seen in hemodynamic compromise and low-flow states, corrosive injury from gastric contents in the setting of esophago-gastroparesis and gastric outlet obstruction, and decreased function of mucosal barrier systems and reparative mechanisms present in malnourished and debilitated physical states. BACKGROUND: Apomorphine is a specific dopaminergic agonist used in the treatment of severe fluctuations of Parkinson's disease, particularly in patients on L-dopa. Osteonecrosis (ON) is a clinical entity characterized by death of bone marrow and trabecular bone as a result of disruption of blood supply to the bone. The antiphospholipid (APL) syndrome is characterized by arterial and/or venous thrombosis and pregnancy morbidity in association with APL antibodies. The involvement of multiple or atypical sites by ON has been reported, especially in association with APL antibodies. We described herein multiple and atypical infarcts which developed in a patient with primary APL syndrome.

CONTEXT: Acute pancreatitis during pregnancy is rare and commonly occurs in association with biliary disease. Preeclampsia is associated with microvascular abnormalities that may involve cerebral, placental, hepatic, renal and splanchnic circulation and rarely can cause acute pancreatitis.
CASE REPORT: A case of acute pancreatitis in a patient with preeclampsia-eclampsia where the diagnosis was missed initially that resulted in a protracted course and development of organized pancreatic necrosis. The pancreatic necrosis resolved with conservative management over 8 weeks.

We describe a 9-year-old boy who presented with very itchy papules and plaques on both knees. Histologically, focal columnar epidermal necrosis was seen associated with features of classic lichen planus. A literature search using PubMed revealed that only two cases of transfusion-associated lichenoid graft-versus-host reaction showing columnar epidermal necrosis have been previously reported.
