The issues on optimization of the restoration treatment of patients, suffering the brain meningioma, were discussed, basing on analysis of 498 observations. Tactics of the patients management in noncomplicated, complicated and severe course of postoperative period is adduced. Using the gas chromatographic headspace sampling technique, we determined the solubility of volatile anesthetics (halothane, enflurane, isoflurane, and sevoflurane) in plasma substitutes, albumin solution, intravenous fat emulsions, perfluorochemical FC-43 emulsion, and aqueous solutions at 37°C. In a previous study the authors proposed a law of visco-elasticity with three parameters to describe the influence on blood of a forced test according Couette's schedule. The changes produced by different plasma substitutes are studied under equilibrium conditions and under altered conditions. Marked changes were noted in the various parameters. It would appear that these changes are related to the cohesion of erythrocyte rouleaux.

Dogs were bled into haemorrhagic shock. They were then given isovolaemic infusions of dextran 60 and 40 and of hydroxyethyl starch with an average molecular weight of 200,000 and 40,000 respectively with a view of assessing the haemodynamic efficacy of these plasma substitutes.
