The spectrum of lymphoproliferative disorders linked to human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) infection has constantly been increasing since the discovery of its first etiologic association with primary effusion lymphoma (PEL). Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8)-associated lymphoid proliferations are uncommon and poorly characterized disorders mainly affecting immunosuppressed patients, especially with HIV infection. They encompass different diseases with overlapping features that complicate their classification. In addition, the role of HHV8 in reactive lymphoid hyperplasia is not well known. We report a case of KSHV/EBV associated germinotropic lymphoproliferative disorder (LPG) in a 49-year-old African patient, without immunosuppression. LPG is a rare entity arising in immunocompetent patients in opposition to other lymphoproliferative disorders associated to Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpes virus (KSHV).
