In three collie dogs with a congenital pit of the optic nerve and associated serous macular detachment, no connection between the subarachnoid space and the pit or subretinal fluid could be demonstrated with subarachnoid injection of India ink or with serial sections of the eyes. A hyperplastic anterior choroidal artery is a vascular anomaly where the anterior choroidal artery supplies the posterior cerebral artery territory. We report a case of subarachnoid hemorrhage from a hyperplastic anterior choroidal artery with tandem fusiform aneurysms. The patient underwent a temporal craniotomy and transcortical transventricular transchoroidal-fissure approach for clip reconstruction. This case illustrates an unusual cerebrovascular pathology and approach to the ambient cistern.

With ECG-gated FLASH-sequences motion of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is demonstrated in axial slices of the zervikal vertebral column. The course of the movement is dissolved by signal enhancement of flowing structures in magnitude images and by velocity-dependent phases. It is shown with both methods, that the oscillation of the CSF within the cardiac cycle is superimposed by a directed movement, with is cranial directed in the lateral cervical subarachnoidal spaces and caudal in the ventral subarachnoidal spaces.

Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) appears on CT as hyperdensity in the subarachnoid space. In rare circumstances a similar appearance may occur in the absence of subarachnoid blood, a finding that has been termed "pseudo-subarachnoid hemorrhage." We describe three patients who presented with abrupt alterations in mental status in whom CT falsely suggested SAH, and we review the literature regarding this imaging finding. In contrast to prior reports, all three of our patients had a favorable outcome.
