A focus group of seven speech and language therapists (SLTs) who work with children with phonological difficulties was invited to share their views on their current ways of working. Qualitative data was generated through discussion of two video-taped recordings of children with phonological difficulties and a series of brainstorming tasks. The peroneal reflex time to sudden ankle inversion and the postural control of 15 athletes with functionally instable ankles were compared with 15 stable controls. This study describes the experiences and resources of male cancer patients in Finland during the trajectory of their illness. A semi-structured interview schedule was used to collect data on falling ill with cancer, on periods of treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy), and on convalescence. This study describes the lived experience of mothers of children with spina bifida. Thirteen mothers of children between the ages of 12 and 18 years participated in at-home, audiotaped interviews. The value of 24-hour ambulatory monitoring of the ECG for the diagnosis of symptoms of dizziness, palpitations and syncope is controversial. In this study results from a hospital-based, clinical service have been analysed. The goal of microlaryngeal surgery is to treat the pathology while preserving or improving vocal function. The medial microflap technique was thus developed. An incision is made over or abutting the lesion, which is then dissected from the vocal ligament and overlying mucosa. Seventeen patients underwent medial microflap excision of their lesions. UNLABELLED: Changes to statutory requirements led to the need to redesign the current shortened programme for graduates (SPG) offered by the University of Dundee. A review of the literature revealed very little published material relating to this type of programme and that which did exist was predominantly American in origin. Prior to developing a new programme a study was carried out.
