Visual prostheses aim at restoring useful vision to patients who have become blind. This useful vision should enable them to regain autonomy in society for navigation, face recognition or reading. Topicalisation of the airway by various techniques has routinely been recommended for awake fibre-optic bronchoscopy in cases of difficult airway. We report herein on the integration of novel transparent and conducting one-dimensional photonic crystals that consist of periodically alternating layers of spin-coated antimony-doped tin oxide nanoparticles and sputtered tin-doped indium oxide into organic light emitting diode (OLED) microcavities. Neuromyelitis optica, also known as Devic disease, was identified in the 19th century, is one of the inflammatory idiopathic demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system, often mistaken for severe multiple sclerosis.
