BACKGROUND: Bisphosphonates (BPs) are the first-line treatment to stop bone resorption in diseases, including osteoporosis, Paget's disease, multiple myeloma and bone metastases of cancer. Bisphosphonates (BPs) are used intravenously to treat cancer-related conditions for the prevention of pathological fractures.
