We report our experience on performing ureteroscopic procedures using local anaesthesia with or without intravenous analgesia. During a two year period 334 ureteroscopic procedures were performed in our hospital. 159 of them were begun but only 138 completed without the use of general or regional anaesthesia. In 9 patients ureteroscopy was performed with lindocaine jelly in the urethra only, and in 129 with additional intravenous analgesia Fentanyl, a synthetic morphine derivative, was used for intravenous analgesia. OBJECTIVES: To propose a risk-stratified, site-specific framework tailored to the biomechanical hazards of dental-origin gastrointestinal foreign bodies (DGIFBs).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: We conducted a narrative review with expert consensus-based synthesis, evaluating leading gastroenterological and surgical consensus statements on aerodigestive and gastrointestinal emergencies. Dedicated guidelines for DGIFBs are currently scarce. Consequently, we systematically extrapolated management principles for sharp, complex objects and integrated them with clinical data on dental device complications.

AIM: This study aims to explore the effect of two commercially available haemostatic agents (i.e., collagen sponge and oxide cellulose) on early healing of the extraction socket.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: In a murine model, bilateral maxillary first molars were extracted and the sockets were filled with or without haemostatic agents. Histology, histomorphometry and immunostaining assays were performed on samples harvested on postextraction day 1, 3, 7 and 14. The objective of this study was to compare the outcomes of parent artery occlusion (PAO) versus stent-assisted reconstruction in radiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) blowouts. Accidental foreign bodies (FBs) in the oral cavity, airway, esophagus and breathing circuit associated with anesthetic procedures are rare but can cause serious and life-threatening complications.
