Laparoscopic excision and marsupialization of symptomatic of recurrent simple renal cysts is an alternative to open or percutaneous surgery. Such surgery may also be useful for pain relief in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). An occlusion balloon catheter is placed in the renal pelvis at the start of the procedure. Cysts are punctured, and the outer wall of the larger cysts is excised with care not to incise the renal parenchyma. In patients with ADPKD, it is important to mobilize the kidney completely, particularly the upper pole, to treat every visible cyst.

Computed tomography (CT) after abdominoperineal (AP) resection for rectal carcinoma is a routine procedure for the detection of recurrent tumor and distal metastases. We reviewed sequential CT scans after AP resection in 52 patients in order to see whether the urinary tract as a neighboring organ is involved in recurrent malignancy. Computed tomographic (CT) studies performed within a general oncology service in 104 consecutive patients with prostatic carcinoma were reviewed retrospectively to assess the incidence and distribution of lymphadenopathy. A new technic of pancreatic transplantation was developed and assessed in sixty-nine dog experiments. The body and tail of the pancreas were transplanted into the side of the Roux-en-Y retroperitoneal limb of jejunum. A dual venous anastomosis of the splenic vein to the vena cava was utilized to avoid venous congestion.
