As the use of percutaneous intervention is increasing for closure of the patent ductus arteriosus, procedure-related complications are also on the rise. BACKGROUND: Migration of dental implants into the maxillary sinus is an uncommon, but increasingly reported complication. Implant migration may result from initial lack of primary stability, intrasinusal and nasal pressure changes, autoimmune reaction to the implant or incorrect distribution of occlusal forces. In the presented case, a screw-in pacemaker lead migrated through the right ventricle, pericardium, left hemidiaphragm, and the left liver lobe into the epigastric region. The rarity of the case is based upon the multiorgan perforation without development of relevant pericardial effusion or intra-abdominal bleeding. Lead extraction was performed uneventfully.

Stent thrombosis is one of the most feared complications after coronary stenting, because it often presents in a catastrophic way, triggering death or acute myocardial infarction. Previous studies report mechanical risk factors of stent thrombosis such as stent underexpansion and vessel dissection. This is a case report of early stent thrombosis associated with bare metal stent dislodgement because of dissolution of a mural thrombus in an unappreciated coronary artery aneurysm.

We report the early complications of stent implantation. Since 1/1/97 to 1/12/02, we implanted 91 stents in 76 patients. Median age and weight were 15 years (range 0.3-43) and 49 kg (range 3-96).
