Men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW) are highly affected by HIV and need novel prevention strategies. Using HIV self-testing (HIVST) kits to screen sexual partners may represent a viable risk-reduction alternative; however, more research is needed on effective strategies for broaching HIVST with partners.
