A 50-year old woman was admitted with pre-Se'zary syndrome in May, 97 as she had intractable progressive erythroderma with intense pruritus since 15 months. She also had axillary, inguinal, hilar and para-aortic lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, alopecia, hypersensitivity to cefadroxyl, and abnormal Sezary cells in peripheral blood film. Histopathology confirmed the diagnosis. Initially she was given 20 mg of prednisolone which was later increased to 40 mg daily but she did not respond. She responded favourably to combination of 20 mg prednisolone and chlorambucil 2.5 mg daily.

A 62-year-old man with longstanding rheumatoid arthritis (RA) presented with dyspnea. Active rheumatoid interstitial lung disease was documented by high resolution computed tomography, gallium scan, and bronchoalveolar lavage. He responded to high dose prednisone, but had unacceptable side effects. Chlorambucil and cyclophosphamide were not steroid sparing. After starting cyclosporine 3 mg/kg/day he was able to stop prednisone and his symptoms improved and stabilized. Pulmonary function showed sustained improvement during 2 years of followup. Transverse myelitis (TM) as a manifestation of an autoimmune disorder is relatively rare. In Sjogren's syndrome (SS), the occurrence of TM is remarkably uncommon. Only three cases have been reported associated with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC). Here we report the fourth case of TM occurring in association with SS and PBC. A case of a familial porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT-II) is reported in which the clinically overt form of PCT was provoked by factors relating to chronic lymphoid leukemia (CLL). The course of hairy cell leukaemia was observed in 27 patients for a maximum of 97 months.
