One case of a secondary amyloidosis in amebiasis with intrathoracic complications of amebic liver abscesses in association with strongyloidiasis, enterobiasis, bancroftian filariasis and maduromycosis is described. It's suggested that the progression of secondary amyloidosis was due to the prolonged process of amebiasis in association with helminthiasis and mycosis.

The literature reports 12 cases of enterobiasis presenting as perianal abscess or granuloma. We describe an additional case of a perianal granuloma containing Enterobius vermicularis eggs in a 5-year-old boy. We suggest routine parasite screening for all children presenting with this condition.

The authors describe a case of peritoneal enterobiasis presenting as necrotizing granuloma, in a adolescent with tumor of the ovarian endodermic sinus. The diagnosis was established through biopsy of peritoneal nodule, during laparotomy for staging system of ovarian cancer. We analyzed 320 clinical samples of parasitic infections submitted to the Department of Environmental Biology and Medical Parasitology, Hanyang University from January 2004 to June 2011. Enterobius vermicularis is a prevalent intestinal nematode. The objective of the research was to study enterobiasis prevalence in symptomatic children <15 years of age attending community health center in North - Western part of Slovenia in years 2017 - 2022. In 1991-1992, higher affection rates of diphyllobothriasis and enterobiasis were notified in some groups of the organized children living on the Pur River (the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug). The children are infected by Diphyllobothrium in infancy, the risk of infection is rather high, reinfections are observed. Among other things, this makes it necessary to perform systematic educational studies among the population in their different forms.

The clinical efficacy of and tolerance to the nemocide pyranthel pamoate produced by "IPCA" (India) and applied to nematodiasis treatment have been investigated. A high efficacy of the drug (94.4-100%) for ascariasis, enterobiasis and ancylostomiasis treatment has been established. The drug is well tolerated by adults and induces slight short-term alterations of hepatic functional activity in 5-10-year-old children.

Calculations of economic loss costs due to procedures for helminth detection and the out-patient treatment of recognized cases of enterobiasis, hymenolepiasis, taeniasis, ascariasis, trichocephaliasis in the Uzbek SSR in 1985 were made as were the costs of inpatient treatment in the specialized clinics in 1986 with account for the loss due to the related decrease in the national output and payments for disability. Their total turned to be about 1.8 million rubles.

In this report, we describe an unusual case of verminous appendicitis due to Enterobius vermicularis and Taenia saginata in a 29-year-old woman from Iran. The histopathological examinations and parasitological descriptions of both worms found in the appendix lumen are discussed. The removed appendix exhibited the macroscopic and microscopic features of acute appendicitis. Antihelminthic therapy was initiated with single doses of praziquantel for the taeniasis and mebendazole for the enterobiasis, and the patient was discharged.

The efficacy and tolerance of embovin, a new anthelminthic manufactured in Russia, was studied in 60 patients with nematodiases. The results evidence its high efficacy in ankylostomiasis (100%), enterobiasis (100%), and ascariasis (90 +/- 6.4%). The drug was well tolerated in all the cases. No adverse effects on the liver, pancreas, kidneys, as well as on the peripheral blood and urine composition were detected. This recommends embovin for wide use in medical practice.

Pinworm infestation (enterobiasis, syn. oxyuriasis), though not usually dangerous, remains one of the commonest parasitic infections seen by the family physician. Particularly prevalent in the pediatric age group, pinworms also infect adults; in both groups the commonest symptom is pruritus ani. Detailed descriptions of history, life cycle, and epidemiology are given. In addition to hygienic measures useful in treatment, the particulars of drug therapy are also outlined.

A survey was conducted for enterobiasis, in six primary schools at Tainan city. The survey was conducted in 1986, involving 8,120 school children. The manner of testing, was two consecutive day, adhesive cellophane paper perianal swabs. The test resulted in general infection rate of 30.4%.
