Getting grounded: Educational foundations for nurses' lifelong learning.

Lifelong learning is key to excellent nursing. Ensuring nurses have a strong foundation for lifelong learning requires a connection between pre-licensure nursing education and ongoing workplace learning. Currently, however, a line deeply divides nurses' learning during post-secondary education and their learning in the workplace. Expanding on the findings from a previously published grounded theory study exploring workplace learning in experienced nurses, I explore aspects of the theory relevant to nursing education in more depth. I describe the concept of Getting Grounded, a process of develo

What goes around comes around: improving faculty retention through more effective mentoring.

In the midst of a nursing faculty shortage, recruitment and retention of new faculty are of utmost importance if the country is to educate and graduate a sufficient number of nurses to fill the health care demands. The pressure of horizontal hostility combined with lack of support, guidance, and knowledge about the educational system makes the novice nurse faculty members vulnerable to burnout and early resignations. Mentorship is the single most influential way to successfully develop new nursing faculty, reaping the benefits of recruitment, retention, and long-term maturation of future nurse

[NURSING CARE FOR A PATIENT UNDERGONE ENDONASAL ENDOSCOPIC APPROACH PITUITARY SURGERY].

The pituitary gland is an endocrine gland that releases different hormones responsible for controlling the production of hormones in other glands, and maintaining the body's homeostasis. This tiny gland is located in a bone cavity known as the sellaturcica. Anomalous growth of some cells produces pituitary adenomas, which represent between 10 and 15% of intracranial tumors. In the majority of cases, the cause is unknown, but they are usually benign tumors with a slow growth rate. Due to the wide range of functions of the pituitary gland, it can present a wide variety of symptoms which tend to

Efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine nursing for lung cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis using the Donabedian model to investigate heterogeneity.

BACKGROUND: Lung cancer patients frequently experience a reduced quality of life and psychological distress during treatment. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing shows promise, but substantial heterogeneity in the evidence base limits clinical interpretation. METHODS: A comprehensive literature search identified 15 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving 1,135 participants. A meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4 and Stata 17. Following the Donabedian framework, data were categorized into structure, process, and outcome dimensions to explore sources of heterogeneity. RESU
