BACKGROUND: Actinomycosis is a chronic infection caused by Actinomyces israeli, a gram-positive saprophytic anaerob, a normal inhabitant of the upper intestinal tract.

Villous adenomas of the urinary tract are extremely rare tumours belonging to the adenoepithelial metaplasias. They can be associated with other neoplasias, especially with carcinomas. We describe the case of an 85-year-old female patient suffering from a villous adenoma of the renal pelvis and ureter.

PURPOSE: MPC located in the upper urinary tract is rare with only 2 cases reported to date. We report clinical and histopathological data on 26 patients to increase the knowledge of this rare entity.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A clinical and histopathological review was performed in 943 patients with a neoplasm in the renal pelvis or ureter, diagnosed between 1971 and 1998. We identified 26 patients with MPC. No patients were alive at the end of the study.

Iatrogenic obstruction of the vas deferens within the inguinal canal can be managed by direct on-site vasovasostomy. Aggressive angiomyxoma is a locally mesenchymal, benign, and rare neoplasm. The vulva, perineum, and pelvis are the most common sites of involvement. The preoperative diagnosis is postulated by CT, sonography, MR image and angiography. The immunohistochemical study reveals the definitive diagnosis. The therapy is only surgical, and because of its tendency to recur locally, the excision has to be as complete as possible.

We report a case of simple epidermoid cyst of the scrotum with extension into the pelvis. Complete excision was performed transcrotally and the presence of epidermoid cyst confirmed by histopathological examination. Simple excision was sufficient for treatment of this very rare lesion. The patient is now in the follow-up period.

Blastomycosis dermatitis is an unusual fungal infection that can become a diagnostic dilemma if a high index of suspicion is not maintained in patients who present with a chronic granulomatous infection of bone and soft tissue. We present a patient with a long history of pain, systemic manifestations of chronic infection, a draining sinus, and lytic changes on plain films to illustrate the difficulty in establishing the diagnosis. Appropriate staging studies and a bone biopsy led to the correct diagnosis in the patient.

In brief Avulsion fractures at the seven Pelvis and hip apophyses may occur more often than reported. Because radiographs are often not obtained, these injuries may commonly be dismissed as sprains and strains. With rare exceptions, avulsion fractures can be treated conservatively- much, in fact, like a sprain or strain. However, because a 'fracture' is involved, an accurate diagnosis generally helps ensure compliance, avoiding the possibility of nonunion or malunion.
