The title cadmium(II) coordination polymer, [Cd(2)(C(4)H(2)O(4))Cl(2)(C(19)H(12)N(4))(2)](n), (I), was obtained by the reaction of CdCl(2) x 2.5 H(2)O, fumaric acid (H(2)fum) and 2-phenyl-1H-1,3,7,8-tetraazacyclopenta[l]phenanthrene (L) under hydrothermal conditions. The effects of the peroxovanadium complex potassium bisperoxo(1,10-phenanthroline)-oxovanadate (bpV[phen]) have been studied on dopamine (DA) exocytosis in PC12 cells. An efficient, copper-catalyzed method for the arylation, alkenylation, and benzylation of polyfluoroarenes has been developed. Arenes containing two or more fluorine substituents on the aromatic ring can be efficiently functionalized. The best results are obtained by using a combination of copper iodide catalyst, phenanthroline ligand, aryl bromide or aryl iodide coupling partner and DMF or DMF/xylene mixed solvent.

Spiroborate-linked organic molecular cages bearing bipyridine and phenanthroline ligands stabilize palladium nanoparticles whose dimensions are consistent with exocyclic growth. The cage-supported Pd nanoparticles act as efficient, recyclable catalysts for aqueous Suzuki-Miyaura coupling, affording high conversions under mild conditions while maintaining cage integrity, nanoparticle morphology, and activity over multiple cycles.

This work aims to describe the morpho-anatomy and determine the mineral composition of H. muticus L. subsp. falezlez seed, and investigate the influence of extraction solvents (hexane, petroleum ether, chloroform and methanol) on contents of total phenolic (TPC) and flavonoid (TFC) and the antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS, reducing power and phenanthroline). The method exploits the possibilities of flow injection gradient titration in a system of reversed flow with spectrophotometric detection.
