Effect of different CAD-CAM post and core materials in endodontically treated teeth without ferrule and with non-circular root canals: 3D finite element analysis.

PURPOSE: Restoring ferrule-lacking, noncircular canal endodontically treated teeth (ETT) poses challenges owing to the increased susceptibility to root fracture and post dislodgement. We aimed to evaluate the influence of different post and core materials on the stress distribution and maximum Von Mises stress in ETT. METHODS: Four three-dimensional models were generated using different customized post and core materials: gold alloy, resin nanoceramic, polyetheretherketone (PEEK), and polyetherketoneketone (PEKK). A static load of 200 N was applied at an angle of 45 ° to the occlusal surface.

Stress analysis of endodontically treated teeth restored with post-retained crowns: A finite element analysis study.

BACKGROUND: The authors conducted a study to analyze the stress concentration areas in a tooth restored with a post-retained crown under various conditions. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The authors constructed a three-dimensional finite element model describing a maxillary second premolar restored with an all-ceramic crown supported by a titanium post and a resin-based composite core. They applied static vertical and horizontal loads of 100 newton to the cusp tip of the crown and recorded Von Mises and tensile stress values. The variables investigated were the presence of the post, coronal and apic

Fracture resistance of premolars with one remaining cavity wall restored using different techniques.

The aim of the study was to compare the fracture resistance of maxillary premolars with one remaining cavity wall restored using different post systems. Forty-eight maxillary premolars were endodontically treated and randomly assigned to four groups for postcore restoration. The first three test groups were restored with polyethylene woven fiber posts, custom-made glass fiber-reinforced composite posts, and titanium posts respectively. In the control Group 4, standardized cavities (3.5 x 1.5 mm) were prepared in the palatal canal entrance and filled with a resin composite. All the specimens we

A case report of reattachment of fractured root fragment and resin-composite reinforcement in a compromised endodontically treated root.

The composite reinforcement technique has been used clinically to salvage damaged root-filled teeth compromised by caries, trauma, developmental abnormalities, internal resorption and iatrogenic causes. This clinical case report describes the use of the technique to reattach a fractured fragment in a compromised endodontically treated root besides reinforcing it for continued function in the mouth. Factors of clinical importance related to this additional application; including reattachment of tooth fragments, post crown retention, coronal microleakage and fracture resistance and strength, are

Sequential surgeries following transversus abdominis release for abdominal wall reconstruction: Insights from a single-center analysis.

INTRODUCTION: Abdominal surgery following transversus abdominis release (TAR) procedure commonly involves incisions through the previously implanted mesh, potentially creating vulnerabilities for hernia recurrence. Despite the popularity of the TAR procedure, current literature regarding post-AWR surgeries is limited. This study aims to reveal the incidence and outcomes of post-TAR non-hernia-related abdominal surgeries of any kind. METHODS: Adult patients who underwent non-hernia-related abdominal surgery following ventral hernia repair with concurrent TAR procedure and permanent synthetic m

Integration of transcriptome and proteome reveals molecular response mechanisms of cryodamage in bovine sperm.

Sperm cryodamage is a key factor affecting its post-thaw quality. This study aims to systematically elucidate the molecular response mechanisms of bovine sperm cryodamage by integrating transcriptomic and proteomic analyses. By utilizing the swim-up technique to isolate sperm subpopulations with mild and severe cryodamage, thereby minimizing interference from individual genetic variation. Results demonstrated that mildly damaged sperm exhibited superior motility, structural integrity, and antioxidant capacity, along with less reactive oxygen species accumulation and more active Wnt, mTOR, and

Challenges and Optimization of Percutaneous Coronary Interventions for Coronary Bifurcation Lesions.

The complex anatomy of coronary bifurcation lesions (CBLs) remains a major challenge in percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs). Currently, the single-stent strategy offers procedural simplicity; however, this strategy carries a higher risk of side-branch occlusion. Conversely, the two-stent technique improves branch coverage but is associated with increased risks of metal carina formation and late stent thrombosis. This article reviews the technical key points and indications of the provisional stent, T-stent, Crush, and Culotte techniques. Moreover, this article focuses on discussing the
