BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Cervical arthroplasty theoretically reduces the risk of adjacent level disc degeneration and segmental instability that may be seen after a cervical fusion. An essential argument in confirming the utility of cervical arthroplasty is long-term confirmation that cervical disc replacements can maintain physiological kinematics at the index and adjacent levels.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this in vivo prospective study was to characterize the long-term segmental kinematic outcomes after cervical arthroplasty.

We report successful treatment of mediastinitis with rerouting of the outflow vascular prosthesis after bi-ventricular assist device (Bi-VAD) implantation. A 23 years-old male with fulminant myocarditis underwent VAD implantation. He required sternotomy three times. Mediastinitis developed after the third surgery, and negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) with irrigation was applied. Penile fracture is an uncommon and emergent urologic condition defined as traumatic rupture of the corpus cavernosum secondary to a blunt trauma of the erect penis. Tunica albuginea is thinned and stretched in the erect state, and a transverse tear in the corpus cavernosums may occur by a buckling force. However, penile dorsal vein tears may mimic penile fracture. Also, corporeal infection and purulent cavernositis are associated with trauma, cavernosography, priapism, intracavernosal injection therapy and penile prosthesis.

Between September 1986 and January 1994, 129 St. Jude Medical prostheses were implanted in 113 patients who were 18-year-old or younger at the Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic of Turkiye Yuksek Ihtisas Hospital. From March 1978 through July 1985, 23 patients underwent implantation of 24 intraluminal ringed prostheses (IRP). There were 18 men and 5 women, with a mean age of 54.7 years, range 15-74 years. Eleven IRP were placed in the ascending aorta, two in the transverse arch, and 11 in the descending aorta.
