[Heterotopic replantation and delayed implant restoration following complete avulsion of maxillary central incisors: a case report].

Dental trauma is one of the relatively common emergencies in clinical dental practice, with a high incidence rate, and the maxillary central incisors are the most frequently affected. This article reports a case of a 17-year-old female patient who suffered traumatic complete avulsion of teeth 11 and 21, with tooth 21 lost after avulsion. The prognosis for replantation was poor due to the absence of the buccal alveolar bone wall of tooth 11. Therefore, tooth 11 was treated with extracorporeal root canal therapy and then replanted into the alveolar socket of tooth 21, which had better conditions

NSAIDs in orthodontic tooth movement.

Orthodontic tooth movement is basically a biological response toward a mechanical force. The movement is induced by prolonged application of controlled mechanical forces, which create pressure and tension zones in the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone, causing remodeling of tooth sockets. Orthodontists often prescribe drugs to manage pain from force application to biologic tissues. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the drugs usually prescribed. NSAIDs block prostaglandin synthesis and result in slower tooth movement. Prostaglandins have been found to play a direct role in …

Intra-alveolar Adhesive Biomaterial Preserves Ridge Height After Tooth Extraction in Dogs.

This multicenter study evaluates the efficacy of a regenerative bone adhesive (RBA), a novel mineral-organic biomaterial, in maintaining alveolar ridge dimensions after extraction of large mandibular teeth in dogs. In a controlled, randomized clinical study, 47 patients with 59 tooth extraction sites across 10 practices were treated by veterinary dental specialists. Study extraction sites had the socket filled with RBA to the rim of the alveolar bone, whereas control sites healed with blood clot only. Computed tomography scans were performed at short-term (6-12 wk) and long-term (6-12 mo) foll

The Establishment of a Murine Mandibular Molar Extraction Socket Healing Model.

This study introduces the development of a molar extraction model in the murine mandible to provide a practicable model for studying alveolar bone regeneration and intramembranous ossification. C57/J6 mice were used to extract the mandibular first molar to establish this model. They were executed, and the bilateral mandibles harvested, at 1 week and 4 weeks post-surgery, respectively. Subsequent serial stereoscopic harvest, histological assessment, and immunofluorescence staining were performed to demonstrate successful surgery. Immediately after surgery, the stereoscopic images displayed an e

Comparative Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Demineralized Freeze-Dried Bone Allografts With Titanium Platelet-Rich Fibrin and Autologous Dentin Graft With Titanium Platelet-Rich Fibrin for Alveolar Socket Preservation: Protocol for a Randomized Controlled Trial.

BACKGROUND: Postextraction ridge resorption compromises the aesthetics and function of the subsequent implant therapy or prosthetic rehabilitation. Several techniques are employed to reduce ridge resorption, ranging from basic socket fillers such as blood clot preservation to more advanced techniques using barrier membranes and bone grafts such as autografts, allografts, xenografts, and synthetic materials. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of alveolar socket preservation by using demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft (DFDBA) with titanium plate

Socket regeneration using a composite regenerative matrix: A simplified clinical workflow with a 5-year follow-up.

Alveolar ridge remodeling following tooth extraction remains a clinical challenge in implant dentistry, particularly in the esthetic zone where dimensional stability of hard and soft tissues is critical for subsequent implant placement. This short communication describes a simplified clinical workflow for socket regeneration using a composite regenerative matrix (CRM) composed of concentrated growth factor (CGF), autologous fibrinogen glue (AFG), and freeze-dried bone allograft (FDBA). The technique was applied following atraumatic extraction in a single maxillary esthetic-zone case. Clinical
