We previously reported a novel compound called S-nitroso- N -pivaloyl- d -penicillamine (SNPiP), which was screened from a group of nitric oxide donor compounds with a basic chemical structure of S-nitroso- N -acetylpenicillamine, to activate the nonneuronal acetylcholine system.
