The factors which determine the migration of lymphoid cells to lamina propria or Peyer's patches of mouse small intestine have been investigated by autoradiographic tracing of intravenously injected spleen, thymus and lymph node cells. We examined the role of the antiapoptotic molecule Bcl-2 in combating the proapoptotic molecule Bim in control of naive and memory T cell homeostasis using Bcl-2(-/-) mice that were additionally deficient in one or both alleles of Bim. Surgery is the cornerstone of therapy for recurrent thymic tumors. The pattern of recurrence is, however, less defined. Between 1966 and 1988, we operated on 83 patients with thymoma, 11 of whom underwent surgery for recurrence (group I). In 1989, we initiated a prospective multimodality protocol and have enrolled 128 patients with 9 (7%) recurrences since (group II). BACKGROUND: This study aims to describe the relationship between the new tumor nodes metastasis (TNM) staging and World Health Organization (WHO) classification and to identify how these two variables relate to each other and whether they possess a prognostic value in predicting survival and recurrence of disease.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the mortality and potential risk factors for death in myasthenia gravis (MG) patients.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 2195 adult patients with MG (aged older than 18 years) diagnosed during the period between 2003 and 2013 were followed-up and retrospectively reviewed.
RESULTS: During the 10-year follow-up, 129 patients died and the total mortality rate was 5.88%.
