OBJECTIVE: To assess the early disclosure and treatment of meatal stenosis after hypospadias repair, using calibration of the neourethral meatus at regular intervals to detect stenosis, and to assess the curative effects of dilatation with topical corticosteroids.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Between 2001 and 2003, 83 boys (median age 19 months, range 12-28) had a proximal hypospadias repair using a tubularized skin island-flap urethroplasty. OBJECTIVE: To introduce the application of the scrotal flap on reconstructing partial urethra defect.
METHODS: From March 1998 to August 2004, 31 patients with urethra defect were treated with scrotal flap. Their ages ranged from 6 to 34 years. Thirty-one patients included 8 cases of congenital deformity of urethra and 23 cases of complication of urethral fistula, urethral stenosis and phallus bend after hypospadias repair. The Mitrofanoff procedure for continent urinary diversion was described in 1980. This principle has been expanded upon and used to achieve continent urinary diversion in virtually any indicated clinical setting. We report 3 cases treated by the Mitrofanoff principle to illustrate the spectrum of clinical situations to which it is applicable. The Mitrofanoff principle represents a viable form of continent urinary diversion.

Congenital anterior urethral diverticulum (CAUD) is an uncommon condition in children usually presenting as a fluctuant ventral penile swelling.
