Propofol inhibits the proliferation, invasion, migration, and angiogenesis of oral squamous cell carcinoma through circ_0008898-mediated pathway.

Propofol has been shown to inhibit oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) progression. However, it is not clear whether propofol mediates OSCC progression through regulating circular RNA (circRNA) network. Quantitative real-time PCR was used to detect circ_0008898, miR-545-3p, and CT10 regulator of kinase-like protein (CRKL) expression. Cell functions were determined using CCK8 assay, Edu staining, MTT assay, transwell assay, wound healing assay, tube formation assay, and flow cytometry. Protein levels were examined by western blot analysis. RNA interaction was confirmed by dual-luciferase report

Rapalog-induced cell adhesion molecule inhibits mesoderm migration in Xenopus embryos by increasing frequency of adhesion to the ectoderm.

During the gastrula stage of Xenopus laevis, mesodermal cells migrate on the blastocoel roof (BCR) toward the animal pole. In this process, mesodermal cells directly adhere to the BCR via adhesion molecules, such as cadherins, which in turn trigger a repulsive reaction through factors such as Eph/ephrin. Therefore, the mesoderm and BCR repeatedly adhere to and detach from each other, and the frequency of this adhesion is thought to control mesoderm migration. Although knockdown of cadherin or Eph/ephrin causes severe gastrulation defects, these molecules have been reported to contribute not on

Krüppel-like Factor 7 inhibits proliferation and migration of pulmonary smooth muscle cells via p21 activation.

The aberrant proliferation and migration of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) are critical contributors to the pulmonary vascular remodeling that occurs during the development of Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Krüppel-like Factor 7 (KLF7) has been reported to be involved in the development of certain cardiovascular diseases. However, the role of KLF7 in PAH remains unknown. Here, we aimed to explore whether KLF7 mediates the proliferation and migration of PASMCs and its underlying mechanism. In this study, Sprague Dawley rats were exposed to 60 mg/kg monocrotaline (MCT) f

Peptide Derived from AHNAK Inhibits Cell Migration and Proliferation in Hirschsprung's Disease by Targeting the ERK1/2 Pathway.

Hirschsprung's disease (HSCR) is characterized by the lack of ganglion cells in the distal part of the digestive tract. It occurs due to migration disorders of enteric neural crest cells (ENCCs) from 5 to 12 weeks of embryonic development. More and more studies show that HSCR is a result of the interaction of multiple genes and the microenvironments, but its specific pathogenesis has not been fully elucidated. Studies have confirmed that many substances in the intestinal microenvironment, such as laminin and β1-integrin, play a vital regulatory role in cell growth and disease progression. In a

Ginkgoic acid impedes gastric cancer cell proliferation, migration and EMT through inhibiting the SUMOylation of IGF-1R.

The imbalance of SUMOylation is related to different cancers, including gastric cancer (GC). Ginkgolic acid (GA) inhibits the growth and invasion of many cancer cells, and it has been reported to restrain SUMOylation. However, the role of GA in GC and whether it functions through SUMOylation remains to be clarified. Our research revealed that GA (15:1) inhibited cell proliferation, migration, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and overall protein SUMOylation in BGC823 and HGC27 cells. In addition, knockdown of SUMO1 (small ubiquitin-like modifier) instead of SUMO2/3 played a similar role

Melatonin inhibits gallbladder cancer cell migration and invasion via ERK-mediated induction of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition.

Melatonin is a naturally occurring molecule secreted by the pineal gland that exhibits antitumor properties and prevents the development of human cancer. However, little is known regarding the effects of melatonin on gallbladder cancer (GBC) cells. The present study aimed to investigate the role of melatonin on the prevention of GBC cell invasion. The GBC cell line, GBC-SD, was treated with different concentrations of melatonin for different time periods, and the data indicated that melatonin markedly inhibited the invasion of GBC cells. Following treatment of GBC cells with melatonin, the pro

Silencing Celsr2 inhibits the proliferation and migration of Schwann cells through suppressing the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

After a peripheral nerve injury, the remaining Schwann cells undergo proliferation and adopt a migratory phenotype to prepare for the regeneration of nerves. Celsr2 has been reported to play an important role in the development and maintenance of the function of the nervous system. However, the role and mechanism of Celsr2 during peripheral nerve regeneration remain unknown. Here, we showed that after sciatic nerve injury, Celsr2 mRNA and protein were significantly increased in nerve tissues. In addition, silencing Celsr2 decreased the ki67-positve portion and the migration distance of Schwann

Silibinin inhibits migration and invasion of breast cancer MDA-MB-231 cells through induction of mitochondrial fusion.

Human triple negative breast cancer cells, MDA-MB-231, show typical epithelial to mesenchymal transition associated with cancer progression. Mitochondria play a major role in cancer progression, including metastasis. Changes in mitochondrial architecture affect cellular migration, autophagy and apoptosis. Silibinin is reported to have anti-breast cancer effect. We here report that silibinin at lower concentrations (30-90 μM) inhibits epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) of MDA-MB-231, by increasing the expression of epithelial marker, E-cadherin, and decreasing the expression of mesenchy

Chick cranial neural crest cells use progressive polarity refinement, not contact inhibition of locomotion, to guide their migration.

To move directionally, cells can bias the generation of protrusions or select among randomly generated protrusions. Here we use 3D two-photon imaging of chick branchial arch 2 directed neural crest cells to probe how these mechanisms contribute to directed movement, whether a subset or the majority of cells polarize during movement, and how the different classes of protrusions relate to one another. We find that, in contrast to Xenopus, cells throughout the stream are morphologically polarized along the direction of overall stream movement and do not exhibit contact inhibition of locomotion. I

Lycopene inhibits proliferation, induces apoptosis, and suppresses migration in cervical cancer cells: involvement of PI3K/Akt signaling.

Cervical cancer remains a major cause of mortality worldwide, highlighting the need for alternative therapeutic strategies. Lycopene, a dietary carotenoid with known antioxidant properties, has demonstrated anticancer activity in several malignancies; however, its mechanistic effects in cervical cancer remain poorly understood. We hypothesize that lycopene inhibits the growth of cervical cancer cell lines and certain cancer-related processes. Therefore, we performed an in vitro study to investigate lycopene's effects on proliferation, viability, migration, and apoptosis in three cervical cance

High PGE2 Levels Inhibit the Migration of Dendritic Cells by Modulating the PKA-CREB Axis Instead of Epac1-Rap1.

The inhibited migration of dendritic cells (DCs) from lesion tissue to draining lymph nodes is a possible way for tumors to achieve immune evasion. In a previous study, we demonstrated that high concentrations of Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which were expressed in tumor microenvironments, inhibited DCs' migration. However, the specific mechanism is not yet clear. The current study aims to use the murine bone marrow-derived DCs (BMDCs) to demonstrate the possible signaling pathway of PGE2. The mRNA and protein expressions of the Epac1-Rap1 axis and PKA-CREB axis were determined after administratio

Antiphospholipid antibodies inhibit the migration and invasion of trophoblast cells by suppressing the JNK/C-Jun/MMP1 signaling pathway.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

BACKGROUND: Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disease primarily manifested by recurrent thrombosis and pregnancy-related complications. The migration and invasion abilities of trophoblast cells play a crucial role in maintaining normal pregnancy. It is now increasingly recognized that adverse pregnancy outcomes in APS are associated with the disruption of trophoblast function by aPL (antiphospholipid antibodies), rather than thrombotic occlusion of the placental vasculature. Therefore, this article aimed to explore the potential mechanisms by which aPL affect trophoblast cell fu
