An 88-year-old woman presented with fever and acute posterior neck pain. A CT scan revealed calcification of the transverse ligament and crown-like calcification around the odontoid process. In the primary dentition, traumatic injuries affecting the tooth-supporting structures are common due to increased bone resilience in children. Crown-root fracture, defined as a fracture involving enamel, dentin, and cementum, is uncommon in the primary dentition, comprising only 2% of dental traumas. This article reports the treatment and follow-up of a 2-year-old boy who suffered a traumatic crown-root fracture involving a primary anterior incisor that was fused to a supernumerary tooth.

Cases in which a single tooth is in need of crown lengthening while remaining esthetically pleasing represent a unique challenge. A case is presented here in which crown lengthening in a challenging esthetic situation on a canine was achieved through forced eruption with a removable orthodontic appliance. The case was considered a success by both the clinician and the patient. Fabrication of the acrylic stent is a simple procedure that can be completed chairside, and the patient's acceptance of the appliance as well as the overall cost and time invested made this a very convenient alternative.

Ultrasound screening for estimation of gestational age is one of the most important advances made in obstetrics. Fetal crown-rump length (CRL) was determined by ultrasound in 105 healthy pregnant women. Each fetus was measured two to four times between the 7th and 14th week, giving a total of 300 observations. The descriptive curve of CRL as a function of age was very similar to those published by others.
