PURPOSE: Pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM) without biliary dilatation is a condition in which dilatation of the bile duct is not seen in patients with PBM. Recently, the Japanese Study Group on Pancreaticobiliary Maljunction (JSGPM) published new diagnostic criteria for PBM. In these criteria, biliary dilatation is defined according to the standard diameter at each age. We reviewed cases of pediatric patients with PBM without biliary dilatation.

Segmental dilatation of the intestine is a rare disease and mostly involves the ileal segment. It commonly presents in the neonatal period and early infancy with symptoms of partial or total obstruction. We report a rare case of an isolated jejunal segmental dilatation in a 7-year-old girl. The child presented with malnutrition and signs of subacute obstruction. The diagnosis was confirmed intraoperatively, and the dilated segment was resected. Although the etiology remains unknown, we discuss its clinical aspects and relevant literature.

This study assessed main pulmonary artery diameter of patients with anthracofibrosis. Patients with anthracofibrosis and CT scans were evaluated after exclusion of patients with co-existing disease. We measured the diameter of the main pulmonary artery (PAD) and ascending aorta (AD) and calculated the pulmonary artery to aorta ratio (APR). The upper reference limit for comparison of PAD was 29 mm. Cut-off values for PAD and APR indicating pulmonary hypertension were 33 mm and 1. Gastric necrosis due to acute massive gastric dilatation is relatively rare. Vascular reasons, herniation, volvulus, acute gastric dilatation, anorexia, and bulimia nervosa play a role in the etiology of the disease. Early diagnosis and treatment are highly important as the associated morbidity and mortality rates are high. In this case report, we present a case of gastric necrosis due to acute gastric dilatation accompanied with the relevant literature.

Infection of a leiomyoma is a very rare clinical entity called pyomyoma. Pathology may be encountered during the reproductive period, pregnancy, and even postmenopausal period. In this report, we present a case of pyomyoma which developed after dilatation and curettage managed by broad spectrum antibiotics and myomectomy to preserve the fertility in a 31-year-old patient.

Pancreatic heterotopia is generally asymptomatic and occurs in gut-related sites. An antenatally detected subhepatic cyst was finally diagnosed to be a congenital biliary cystic dilatation (without a caudal duodenal communication) with macroscopic Heinrich Type 2 pancreatic heterotopia. The embryogenesis and pathology of the malformation are discussed.

A male infant presented with failed extubation was diagnosed with congenital microtrachea.
